THE ties between the Philippines and the United States is a priority of US President Joe Biden.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This was the statement made by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Tuesday at the Malaca\u00f1an Palace, where he reaffirmed his government\u2019s commitment to the bilateral ties between the Philippines and the US.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cSo important to us is even us we\u2019re dealing with those challenges, our focus, our engagement, our commitment to the Indo-Pacific are at large, and to the relationship, the alliance between the United States and the Philippines, in particular, is more than rock solid,\u201d Blinken said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s absolute priority of President Biden, and that\u2019s why he asked me to be here, and I am glad to see you again,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n For his part, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said he is also happy to meet Blinken in the Philippines, which is his second visit to the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He added that Blinken\u2019s visit is much welcome amid \u201chow things are progressing in the rest of the world.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Blinken noted that US President Joe Biden sent him to Manila to reaffirm the alliances between the Philippines and the US as he emphasized that the relationship of the two countries is something that is with great importance to the US.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Blinken also cited the upcoming visit of President Marcos to the US next month for the scheduled trilateral meetings with President Biden and Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cOur relationship, between the Philippines and the United States is in high \u2013 it\u2019s something, that\u2019s with great importance too and now we have your upcoming visit to Washington, to see President Biden also to have a trilateral meeting with President, Prime Minister Kishida,\u201d Blinken said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He added that the \u201cnew horizon of cooperation\u201d between the Philippines, Japan and the US \u201cis also incredibly promising\u201d as it is \u201cbuilding on the reach foundation\u201d between the three countries.
