PERSONNEL of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday flagged down the convoy of former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson for violating the Edsa Bus Lane rule.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Singson was in the back seat of his Fortress bulletproof vehicle when they were flagged down around 9 a.m. on the northbound side of EDSA-Cubao in Quezon City.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n MMDA Special Operations Group Strike Force head Gabriel Go said they are just enforcing the law.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He said Singson was apologetic of the incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cWe have to be fair. We have to implement what is right,\u201d Go said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the MMDA, only authorized vehicles are allowed to use the EDSA carousel bus lane such as public utility buses, emergency vehicles, and clearly-marked government vehicles responding to emergencies.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Singson has offered a P100,000 reward to MMDA traffic enforcers who flagged his convoy down for unauthorized use of the EDSA busway.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In a television interview, the former Ilocos Sur governor said the offer was not a \u201csuhol\u201d but a reward to encourage more enforcers to apprehend erring motorists.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" PERSONNEL of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday flagged down the convoy of former Ilocos Sur Gov.
