VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna \u2013 The Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon) is on alert and ready for the two-day transport strike declared by PISTON and MANIBELA Monday, April 15, and Tuesday. April 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n PRO4-A Director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas directed all police provincial directors within Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region to be vigilant and oversee the conduct of the transport strike within their respective areas of responsibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He told police provincial directors to formulate contingency plans, in coordination with local government units (LGUs) and other law enforcement agencies, to assist travelers who may be affected by the strike.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Calabarzon top said the PRO4-A has organized a Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) poised for immediate deployment upon orders.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He said red teaming will be assigned to inspect and visit all places of convergence, and civil disturbance management units were activated to address any potential disruptions.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lucas urged citizens of the region to stay at home if there is no important matter to attend outside their residence. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, PNP and LGU buses and trucks will be deployed to provide for the \u201clibreng sakay,\u201d offering free transportation services during the strike.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The police regional director advised the public to anticipate potential travel delays due to PNP checkpoints, coordinated with the Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and Highway Patrol Group.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He also said people must expect increased police presence on roads, terminals, and gathering areas to ensure smooth movement of goods and services and uphold safety and security for all road users and the public.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n All personnel manning checkpoints and conducting police operations were directed to exercise maximum tolerance and respect for human rights.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cSa ating mga kapulisan, maging mahinahon at mapagpasensya tayong lahat sa pagganap natin sa ating mga tungkulin.
