{"id":5119,"date":"2024-04-19T01:03:10","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T17:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=5119"},"modified":"2024-04-19T01:03:11","modified_gmt":"2024-04-18T17:03:11","slug":"3-ofws-die-from-severe-flooding-in-uae-dmw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2024\/04\/19\/3-ofws-die-from-severe-flooding-in-uae-dmw\/","title":{"rendered":"3 OFWs DIE FROM SEVERE FLOODING IN UAE \u2013 DMW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Thursday confirmed the death of three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to severe flooding that hit the desert nation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWith much sadness, the Department of Migrant Workers &nbsp;reports the deaths of three overseas Filipino workers &#8212; two females and one male, as a result of the heavy flooding in the United Arab Emirates, the DMW statement said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the Department, the two females died due to suffocation inside their vehicle during the flooding while the third victim died due to major injuries sustained from an accident when his vehicle fell into a sinkhole at the height of the flooding.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe entire DMW family offer our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families and relatives of our departed OFWs,\u201d DMW officer-in-charge Hans Leo J.
