OFFICIALS of the municipality of La Trinidad in Benguet province on Sunday presented Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez with a copy of the resolution adopted by its Sangguniang Bayan, declaring him as the town\u2019s adopted son.<\/p>\n Resolution No. 69-2024, adopted by the Municipal Board during its regular meeting on March 26, 2024, likewise bestowed the name \u201cBatakagan,\u201d meaning \u201cBrightest Star\u201d to Speaker Romualdez.<\/p>\n La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda, along with other officials of the municipality — the capital of Benguet province — presented a copy of the resolution to Romualdez as he was spearheading the launch of the cash and rice distribution program held at the Benguet Sports Complex.<\/p>\n \u201cResolved as it is hereby done, to declare the House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez, as an adopted son of the municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet Province and bestowed with the name \u201cBatakagan\u201d (Brightest Star),\u201d the resolution said.<\/p>\n The Sangguniang Bayan said the people of La Trinidad are very much honored to welcome the Speaker, who was in the municipality Sunday to lead the launch in the province of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) program of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.<\/p>\n \u201cHis noble intention and effort to visit and show support to the constituents of the municipality of La Trinidad deserve recognition worthy as a son,\u201d the resolution said.<\/p>\n The resolution noted that aside from overseeing the legislative function of Congress, he also conceptualized and spearheaded the BPSF, \u201ca groundbreaking event aimed at revolutionizing public service in the Philippines, showcasing innovative approaches to improve government efficiency and responsiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBringing together various government agencies, private sector partners, and community organizations, the fair serves as a platform for interactive exhibits, workshops, and discussions focusing on engagement, digital transformation, and inclusive governance,\u201d the resolution said.<\/p>\n The resolution added that through initiatives such as streamlined bureaucratic processes, digital service delivery platforms, and proactive citizen feedback mechanisms, the service fair aims to foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence in public service delivery, ultimately empowering Filipinos and driving socio-economic development across the nation.<\/p>\n In his message at the start of the event, Benguet lone district Rep.
