The House of Representatives has just lost a great legal thinker and a smart number-cruncher,\u201d the Speaker said.<\/p>\n Romualdez said he and his colleagues would remember Cong. Pidi as the person they could turn to for legal advice and for understanding the maze of numbers in the national budget, the Dasmari\u00f1as City lawmaker being a CPA- lawyer.<\/p>\n \u201cI myself consulted him on a number of legal issues. He was always lending a helping hand. We will also remember him as an indefatigable lawmaker who made it a point to attend sessions and participate actively in committee hearings with extensive preparations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cOur prayers and thoughts go to Cong. Pidi\u2019s family, especially his wife Mayor Jenny Barzaga, his sons and his constituents,\u201d Romualdez added.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Barzaga passed away at the age of 74 on Saturday (Philippine time) in California in the United States.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He is survived by his wife, Dasmari\u00f1as City Mayor Jenny Austria-Barzaga, as well as his sons Kiko, Third, and Enzo.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The late congressman previously had to undergo open-heart surgery in the US, as announced in October 2023.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAs we mourn his loss, we find solace in the countless lives he touched and the enduring impact of his work.
