CHARGES for <\/strong>kidnapping and serious illegal detention<\/strong> filed against a former police major and his driver-bodyguard linked to the disappearance of beauty queen Catherine Camilon were dismissed by the regional prosecutor in San Pablo City, Laguna.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the resolution issued by<\/strong> Assistant Regional Prosecutor Rogelio D. Radoc Jr. on April 16, 2024 and was received by the Camilon family on May 15, 2024, <\/strong> there was no sufficient evidence to pursue the case against ex-police major Allan de Castro and his driver-bodyguard Jeffrey Magpantay.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The resolution stated that despite the <\/strong>photographs showing the victim and the accused and the witnesses claiming to have seen Camilon bleeding as she was transferred to a red SUV, no blood samples were found inside the vehicle. <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Camilon\u2019s mother, Rosario has expressed disappointment with the decision.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Catherine was last seen at a mall in Lemery, Batangas, on October 12, 2023. He was allegedly set to meet de Castro.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n De Castro has been accused as the mastermind behind the case, a claim denied by the former police major.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Magpantay became a suspect after witnesses saw him transferring a bleeding Camilon into a vehicle.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) Director Brig. Gen.
