FORMER Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves on Thursday was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group over terrorism financing charges during a manhunt operation in Dumaguete City.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pryde Henry is the brother of fugitive ex-Negros Oriental Rep. Arnulfo \u201cArni\u201d Teves.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n PNP-CIDG director Maj. Gen. Leo M. Francisco, in a report to PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, said the 60-year-old elder brother of the ousted lawmaker was arrested in Dr. Vicente Locsin St., Bgy. Taclobo in Dumaguete City around 6:15 a.m. on Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Members of the CIDG Negros Oriental Provincial Field Unit arrested the suspect, who has been tagged as the no. 1 most wanted person in the province, and the Regional Level No. 1 Most Wanted Person.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The ex-Negros Oriental governor was caught on the strength of a warrant for violation of the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012 issued by Judge Marlon Jay Moneva of the Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 74.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The court recommended a P200,000 bail for the temporary liberty of the accused, who was immediately apprised of his constitutional rights before being taken to the local CIDG office for booking prior to his presentation to court.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The two Teveses were among the 14 persons tagged terrorists by the Anti-Terrorism Council in the aftermath of the killing of Negros Oriental Gov.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Roel Degamo and nine others and the wounding of 14 others during an attack at the governor’s house in Pamplona town on March 4, 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" FORMER Negros Oriental Gov.
