SENATOR <\/strong>Nancy Binay on Monday filed an ethics complaint against Senator Alan Peter Cayetano <\/strong>following his remarks during last week’s committee hearing on the new Senate building.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Binay filed the ethics complaint with Senate Committee on Ethics chair Sen. Francis Tolentino.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The female senator mentioned in her complaint the alleged \u201cunparliamentary act, and language\u201d of Cayetano.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n She said the Senate has the power to punish its erring members for disorderly behavior.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the female senator, during the July 3 hearing of the Committee on Accounts chaired by Cayetano on the New Senate Building (NSB) project, the latter uttered \u201coffensive, derogatory and improper\u201d language against her.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n She said Cayetano even called her a “gossipmonger” (marites)<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cNabuang ka na, ‘day (You’ve gone crazy, lady),\u201d Cayetano told Binay as she stood up and left the hearing.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n At a press briefing, Binay turned emotional as she explained that her children witnessed the incident, thus, she decided to file a complaint.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n “This is not just about me. Nanay ako.
