Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. and two other key figures in the PFP, the political party of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., for alleged falsification of public documents and violations of the Cybercrime Law.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The first criminal complaint was filed by Abubakar M. Mangelen, the National Chairman of the PFP, at the City Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in Manila on July 5, 2024, under case number XV-07-INV-246-02944. Named respondents are party member Thompson C. Lantion and lawyer George S. Briones.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:image {\"id\":7106,\"sizeSlug\":\"large\",\"linkDestination\":\"none\"} --><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"827\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3jgp7ht9-827x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7106\" srcset=\"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3jgp7ht9-827x1024.png 827w, https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3jgp7ht9-242x300.png 242w, https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3jgp7ht9-768x951.png 768w, https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/3jgp7ht9.png 1022w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 827px) 100vw, 827px\"><\/figure>\n<p><!-- \/wp:image --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>In his affidavit, Mangelen claimed that the respondents falsified documents, specifically an alleged amended Constitution and By-Laws (CBL) of the PFP, during Comelec En Banc proceedings in 2022 and 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mangelen further alleged that his e-signature was used without his authorization.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the complaint, the falsification of public documents was carried out through the aid and use of a computer system, violating Article 172 in relation to Article 171 of the Revised Penal Code, and Chapter 11, Section 6 of Republic Act 10175 otherwise known as the Cybercrime Law.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mangelen, who was elected National Chairman of the PFP on April 21, 2018, discovered in April or May of 2024 that falsified party CBL documents were used by the respondents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:image {\"id\":7107,\"sizeSlug\":\"large\",\"linkDestination\":\"none\"} --><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"885\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/nvogosun-885x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/nvogosun-885x1024.png 885w, https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/nvogosun-259x300.png 259w, https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/nvogosun-768x889.png 768w, https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/nvogosun-1024x1185.png 1024w, https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/nvogosun.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 885px) 100vw, 885px\"><\/figure>\n<p><!-- \/wp:image --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The documents were allegedly submitted in the party&#8217;s petition for accreditation as one of the 10 major political parties in the May 9, 2022 election before the Comelec En Banc.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The complaint asserts that the falsified documents made it appear that a National Assembly meeting took place to amend the original party&#8217;s CBL from 2018 to 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The amendment allegedly extended the term of PFP&#8217;s national officers from two years to three years and allowed officers to remain in office by hold-over capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mangelen insisted that he neither signed nor participated in creating the falsified 2022 CBL.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Furthermore, Mangelen alleged that the respondents used the falsified CBL in another proceeding before the Comelec, docketed as E.M. No. 24-002, filed against Tamayo Jr., Lantion, and Briones by several party officers, including Leandro B. Verceles Jr. and Antonio C. Rodriguez Jr..<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mangelen provided various pieces of evidence to support his claims, including affidavits from other party members and officers who stated that no National Assembly Meeting ever took place to amend the original CBL.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The second criminal complaint, a joint affidavit, was filed by Assam M. Ulangkaya and Alexander P. Agustin against Tamayo, Lantion, and Briones on July 8, 2024, under case number XV-07-INV-246-02965.
