Batangas Police Provincial Office director Col. Jacinto \u201cJac\u201d Malinao Jr. identified the arrested suspect as alias \u201cJad.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to Malinao, joint personnel of the Batangas Police Provincial Office, Special Weapons and Tactics, 403rd<\/sup> Regional Mobile Force Battalion and the Tanauan City Police Station launched the search at 5:20 a.m. up to 3:20 p.m. on July 14 based on a search warrant issued by <\/strong>Judge Nevic C. Adolfo of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 83, of Tanauan City<\/strong> <\/strong>for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive<\/strong> e Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The seized arsenal included five Glock pistols of various serial numbers, 10 pistols of assorted calibers, multiple magazines and ammunition, holsters and ammunition storage containers.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to Malinao, the operation is also to ensure a safe and secure May 2025 midterm elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Intensifying our campaign against loose firearms is part of our comprehensive crime prevention and solution strategy in line with the program thrust of the Police Regional Office \u2013 Calabarzon under Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas,” said the Batangas top cop.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Malinao commended all personnel involved in the operation for a job well done.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThis operation serves as a testament to our commitment in keeping our communities safe and secure. This also a preventive measure against loose firearms that may possibly be used in the commission of crimes this coming midterm elections,\u201d Malinao said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Working together with the community is essential to keep our neighborhood safe. Everyone’s help is needed to prevent crime and threats in society. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately,” he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Authorities are investigating if the suspect is into gunrunning or if he is a member of a private armed group.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The arrested suspect and the confiscated illegal guns and ammunition are in the custody of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Batangas PPO for processing and documentation.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" CAMP GEN.
