IN a move that further broadens the grand coalition under the banner of Bagong Pilipinas, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.\u2019s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) on Thursday forged an alliance with one of the country\u2019s oldest political parties, the Nacionalista Party (NP).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In his speech during the signing of the alliance, President Marcos said the alliance shall better orchestrate the collective priorities and plans for the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cTo better orchestrate our collective priorities and plans for the nation, the PFP is working closely with our colleagues from the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, the Nationalist People\u2019s Coalition, and the National Unity Party,\u201d the President said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAnd today, we have the opportunity to forge another partnership that will broaden the grand coalition working under the banner of Bagong Pilipinas. We declare, the PFP, we declare officially its collaboration with the Nacionalista Party through the signing of our alliance,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Zeroing in on the shared goal of serving the Filipino people, President Marcos said forming a strong united front with leaders having the same ideology and convictions would help improve the lives of the Filipinos.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cWith this, we form a strong united front that would help us fulfill our shared goal for the Filipino people. And I\u2019m sure everyone will agree that our goal is to strengthen the foundation of our nation to better serve our people,\u201d he stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cSo, I am very, very happy to have \u2014 that we are today formalizing that alliance and that alliance now has formed the largest political bloc in the Philippines. And that political bloc\u2026 Kung saan man tayo nanggaling ay tayo\u2019y nagkita-kita dahil sa pagkakasunduan natin na ang kailangan ng Pilipinas \u2014 ang kailangan natin gawin para pagandahin ang Pilipinas, para pagandahin ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino, ang kailangan natin gawin ay sama-sama tayo.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Marcos enjoined all members of the \u201clargest political bloc\u201d to continue working for the dream and aspiration of making the Philippines a better country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAnd to say that we will \u2014 we came into office and when we leave office, that we leave the Philippines a better country and we leave the Filipinos in a better condition than we found them, when we first came into office,\u201d Marcos said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThat is the aspiration. That is the dream. And it can only be achieved through a unified effort by everyone and there is nothing more than we can do but to continue to work for that dream,\u201d he stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nacionalista chairman and former Senate president Manuel Villar said his party has always supported Marcos.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Villar noted that Marcos was part of his senatorial lineup when he ran for president in 2010.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Nacionalista Party also supported Marcos’ bid for the presidency in 2022.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" IN a move that further broadens the grand coalition under the banner of Bagong Pilipinas, President Ferdinand R.
