THE Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) relieved from their posts the chief of the Taytay Fire Station in Rizal and three of his men following a viral photo downloaded on Facebook showing a firetruck refilling a swimming pool in the town.<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Relieved from their posts were Taytay BFP fire marshal Sr. Insp. Juanito Luna, and his men FO3 Jonathan Elcuban, FO1 Johnny Varila and FO1 Cleiford Wayaway, all from the Taytay Fire Station.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Luna, who will be replaced by Sr. Insp. Kristin Mantuano, will be assigned to the BFP Office of the Regional Director.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Based on an order signed by Senior Supt. Jobie Angot, Elcuban will be reassigned to Pelilla Fire Station, Varila to the San Mateo Fire Station and Wayaway to the Angono Fire Station.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The relief of the four fire officers was intended to prevent them from influencing the result of an investigation that is being conducted regarding the incident.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos directed the BFP to conduct a probe on the viral photo under an account named \u201cTaytay Updates\u201d to determine its veracity.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to BFP chief Director Louie Puracan who immediately ordered an investigation, the case, which was first probed by the BFP-Region IV-A, is now at the Internal Affairs Section (IAS) of the BFP national headquarters.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cMaliwanag na ang administrative case. tinitingnan natin ang kasong kriminal dito . . .hindi pa tapos ang imbestigasyon pero titiyakin natin na may paglalagyan itong mga \u2018to,\u201d the BFP chief said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Abalos, in his urgent memorandum, tasked Puracan to identify the BFP personnel involved, which he described as \u201cunscrupulous\u201d and file cases if the evidence warrants.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The refilling of the swimming pool happened in a house in Maharlika Village, Taytay, Rizal.
