THE Philippine Senate has assumed custody of Sheila Guo, the sister of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, from the National Bureau of Investigation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sheila was turned over by the NBI to the Senate at  12:29 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The NBI also on Monday turned over to the House of Representatives Katherine Cassandra Li Ong, the woman tied to the raided Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Porac, Pampanga<\/strong>..<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sheila, along with Cassandra, is scheduled to appear at a Senate hearing on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, regarding the alleged illegal POGO activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Senate medical team has examined Guo to ensure her physical and mental health.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Senate security team led by Sergeant-at-Arms Lt. Gen. Roberto Ancan PA (retired) has assured the protection and safety of Sheila inside the Senate premises.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A round-the-clock security team is posted near Sheila\u2019s accommodation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Shiela and Cassandra were returned to the country by Indonesian authorities on Thursday (Aug. 22) after they left the Philippines, reportedly on July 17, despite an immigration lookout bulletin order.<\/strong><\/p>\n
