THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Central Visayas is set to strictly implement a \u201cno plate, no travel\u201d policy starting September 1, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This means that beginning on said date, temporary plates for motorcycles and cars purchased before January 1, 2023 will be prohibited and all vehicles using improvised\u00a0 plates will be apprehended..<\/strong><\/p>\n The move is in compliance with the LTO Memorandum Circular No. VDM-2024-2721, which sets the guidelines on the nationwide use of improvised and temporary plates for motor vehicles and motorcycles.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to Regional Highway Patrol Unit \u2013 7 regional director Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla, a one-week information campaign will be done to educate the public of the new policy.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Vehicles using improvised plates will be flagged down in checkpoints and drivers will be informed of the \u201cno plate, no travel\u201d policy.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He said those vehicles using temporary or improvised plates after the deadline will be issued a Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOP).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Those vehicles using unauthorized plates will be fined at least P5,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, LTO Calabarzon also stepped up enforcement of the \u201cno registration, no travel policy\u201d and the \u201cno plate, no entry\u201d rule on toll roads.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n As part of its ongoing commitment to road safety and order, LTO Calabarzon is conducting rigorous enforcement of traffic laws, focusing on ensuring that all vehicles have up-to-date registrations and that drivers possess valid licenses.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The operations specifically target common traffic violations, including overspeeding, illegal parking, and the unauthorized use of sirens and blinkers.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition to the efforts, LTO Calabarzon is carrying out thorough inspections of buses, jeepneys, and other public utility vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and are in proper working condition.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n LTO Calabarzon urged the public to support these initiatives by complying with traffic laws and regulations, as the region gears up for the implementation of stricter road safety measures.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Central Visayas is set to strictly implement a “no plate, no travel” policy starting September 1, 2024.
