{"id":9306,"date":"2024-10-17T00:55:46","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T16:55:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=9306"},"modified":"2024-10-17T00:55:47","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T16:55:47","slug":"electric-buses-that-will-provide-free-public-transportation-to-roll-out-in-quezon-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2024\/10\/17\/electric-buses-that-will-provide-free-public-transportation-to-roll-out-in-quezon-city\/","title":{"rendered":"ELECTRIC BUSES THAT WILL PROVIDE FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO ROLL OUT IN QUEZON CITY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE <\/strong><strong>Quezon City government is set to roll out electric buses that will provide free transport service to its residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Wednesday said the project shows the city government\u2019s commitment for environmentally sustainable practices.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe are excited to roll out these electric buses as part of our city\u2019s dedication to implement programs and policies that promote environmental sustainability,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Belmonte said the city government has procured eight electric buses with a 41-seating capacity per unit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to her, an electric bus has enough space to accommodate standing passengers and is also equipped with wheelchair ramps to support the mobility of persons with disability (PWD).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>She said initial testing of the eight buses will start in the next few weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The acquisition of electric buses is part of the city\u2019s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent in 2030.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The eight electric buses will join a fleet of over 100 QCity buses that<\/strong> \u00a0<strong>operate<\/strong>\u00a0 <strong>along key routes in Quezon City and offering free transport services to its residents.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Quezon City government is set to roll out electric buses that will provide free transport service to its residents.
