PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. directed the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to continue providing ambulances to the needy local government units (LGUs).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The President made the order as he led the distribution of 90 ambulances to selected LGUs in a ceremony at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He stressed the distribution of ambulances, or patient transport vehicles (PTVs), should be equal and accessible, regardless of political affiliations.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cHuwag na nating isipin kung saan pupunta. Kung ito\u2019y \u2018binoto ba tayo diyan?\u2019 \u2018Nanalo ba tayo diyan?\u2019 Wala ng ganoon. Kung saan man nangangailangan, magpapadala tayo,\u201d President Marcos said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n As a former governor, President Marcos recalled that some LGUs find it difficult to get ambulances from the previous leadership due to politics.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cNakukuha mo lang ang ambulansya dati pagka medyo malapit ka kung sino man o paki-usap, palakasan. Unahan,\u201d the President recounted.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cIka ko naman hindi naman siguro dapat ganoon. Kaya\u2019t sabi ko basta\u2019t hangga\u2019t kaya natin kuha nang kuha lang tayo nitong mga emergency vehicle na ganito at ikalat natin,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, the <\/strong>President on Wednesday told local government units to make sure the ambulances given to them would last to serve more Filipinos.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Marcos vowed the government will continue providing ambulances to cover all LGUs across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n So far, 564 ambulances have been given to LGUs.
