KANLAON Volcano in Negros Island on <\/strong>Saturday morning spewed gray ash, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Phivolcs said the “ashing” event was observed at 11:49 a.m. to 12:02 p.m. Saturday. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It added that no detectable seismic or infrasound signals were recorded.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The events generated light-gray plumes that rose 500 meters above the crater before drifting south as recorded by the Canlaon City Observation Station IP Camera. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Based on the volcano bulletin, 31 volanic earthquakes occurred from 12 a.m. of November 1 to 12 a.m. of November 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The volcano released 6,993 tons of sulfur dioxide, said Phivolcs. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Alert Level 2 or an \u201cincreased unrest\u201d remains over Kanlaon Volcano.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Phivolcs said sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions may occur in the volcano.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Entry into the four-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) is strictly prohibited.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pilots were advised not to fly close to Kanlaon Volcano as any eruption could endanger the aircraft.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" KANLAON Volcano in Negros Island on Saturday morning spewed gray ash, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
