Jerrold Jake Manguerra received an award for his role in solving the murder case of Kapampangan beauty queen Geneva Lopez and her Israeli fianc\u00e9 Yitshak Cohen.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Manguerra, a native of Pampanga who graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, USA in 2019, was awarded the “Medalya ng Kadakilaan.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CIDG director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III gave the award to Manguerra for leading the investigation and operation that solved the high-profile double murder case.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Manguerra is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 2006.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It could be recalled that Lopez and her Israeli boyfriend were reported missing on June 22.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n On July 6, the decomposing bodies of the duo were discovered in Bgy. Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Both victims sustained gunshot wounds, according to operatives of the Scene of the Crime Office (SOCO).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Five people, including two former police officers, were charged with two counts of murder before the Department of Justice (DOJ) last September over the death of Lopez and Cohen.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" BY KEVIN GALANG CRIMINAL Investigation and Detection (CIDG) – Tarlac chief Lt.
