FOUR people, including a four-year-old boy, on Sunday were killed after a 16-wheeler truck crashed into three motorcycles in Bgy. Ugong, Pasig City.
Among the fatalities were members of a family. The other victim was a driver of another motorcycle.
The 16-wheeler truck was loaded with thousands of sacks of rice when it turned on its side, trapping the motorcycle riders underneath.
The accident occurred along the eastbound lane of Ortigas Lanuza intersection at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
The truck driver told investigatorsthat he lost his brakes, swerve hard to the right, causing him to ram the motorcycles in front of him before the truck turned on its side.
The Pasig Police said two other victims sustained fractured arms and ribs and are still undergoing medical treatment.
The truck driver and his helper are now in the custody of the Pasig City police.
