A MAN detained for carnapping charges at a police station in Angeles City, Pampanga has escaped by faking a heart attack on Thursday.
Acting City Director of the Angeles City Police Office Col. Joselito Villarosa Jr. reported to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo that the escapee is a 37-year-old resident of Bgy. Calulut, City of San Fernando.
The suspect was detained at the Police Station 6 Custodial Facility for violation of Republic Act 10883 also known as the “New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 and RA 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act in relation to Provincial Ordinance No. 756 and Executive Order 15-2020.
An investigation showed the inmate called the attention of the duty jailguard and complained of difficulty in breathing.
When the prison guard opened the gate of the custodial facility, the inmate quickly pushed him and ran away.
Other policemen chased the inmate but to no avail.
A manhunt operation is ongoing to arrest the escapee.
