POLICE on Friday arrested two suspects in a “rent-tangay” scheme in Malolos City, Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones, the Bulacan police identified the suspects as alias “Ross,” 49, a native of Baguio City residing in Bgy. Mojon, Malolos City; and alias “Mar,” 52, of Maunlad Homes, Bgy. Mojon, Malolos City.
According to complainant Eduardo Fidel, 33, a real estate agent residing in Bgy. Matungao, Bulakan, Bulacan, his black Toyota Vios with plate number NKD 2458 was not returned by the suspects after they rented it on agreed date from June 29 to July 3.
Fidel said that around 10 p.m. on July 2, he found out that the GPS device installed in his vehicle was removed.
The complainant attempted to recover the vehicle from the suspects, but failed, prompting him to seek police’ help.
Seeing the arriving police officers, the suspects attempted to evade arrest but were successfully apprehended on MacArthur Highway in Bgy. Guinhawa, Malolos City.
The arrested suspects are now under the custody of the Malolos City police.
