TWO female passengers on Saturday were killed while two others were injured when a tricycle was hit by a sports utility vehicle in Hermosa, Bataan.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. by the Bataan police identified the fatalities as trike passengers Karmina Isabell Calanoc and Marielle Turla.
A third passenger, Olivia Torres, and trike driver Alvin Benavente, were injured.
All three passengers are residents of Bgy. San Simon, Dinalupihan, Bataan.
Initial probe showed the tricycle being driven by Benavente, with the three victims as passengers, was going to Orani, Bataan when upon reaching in front of Palawan Pawnshop on Roman Superhighway in Bgy. Palihan, a Ford Ranger driven by Jose Jorge, 30, of Tierra Feliza, Bgy. Upper Tuyo, Balanga City, Bataan, sideswiped the trike, causing the tricycle to crash into an electric post.
The trike driver and the three passengers were brought to the Dinalupihan District Hospital, where two were declared dead upon arrival.
The SUV driver is now under the custody of the Hermosa police and will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, physical injuries and damage to property.
