A 68-YEAR-OLD priest on Wednesday was found dead in a condominium in Cebu City.
The victim was identified as Rev. Fr. Decoroso Jurban Olmilla also known as “Father Cocoi,” a resident priest of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish in Bgy. Lahug, Cebu City.
Fr. Olmilla had a wound in the neck when discovered in a condominium unit in Bgy. Mabolo at 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, authorities said.
Police rushed to the condominium unit after receiving a report that a wounded man was found there. They found the victim bathing in blood and with a deep wound in the neck.
The wounded man was later found to be a priest.
Police are investigating if there was a foul play in the prelate’s death.
The Archdiocese of Cebu mourned the priest’s passing.
“May the Lord receive His faithful sercan into His eternal embrace and may those who mourn find comfort in the promise of Christ’s resurrection and everlasting life,” the Archdiocese said in a statement.
Mabolo police chief Maj. Eric Gingoyon said all angles are being studied.
Two people were brought to the police station for questioning.
