CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has reaffirmed its operational readiness as it intensified security preparations for the upcoming 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on February 25.
Officials of the PRO3 on Friday participated in the Final Coordinating Meeting for the national commemoration as part of the Philippine National Police’s heightened security measures for major national events.
Regional Operations Division chief Police Colonel Deonido S. Maniago Jr., together with personnel from the Regional Operations Division and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 led by Lt. Col. Cornelio Ordanza, joined the virtual meeting from the War Room of the PRO3 Multi-Purpose Building at Camp Capt. Julian Olivas in this city.
The meeting, presided over by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director Police Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin, discussed key security arrangements, including deployment plans, intelligence monitoring, traffic management, and contingency measures aimed at ensuring a peaceful and orderly observance of the historic event.
According to PRO3 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., the preparations align with the Philippine National Police’s Focused Agenda under PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., as well as PRO3’s operational framework anchored on the “3Ps” — Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
He emphasized that the regional police force remains ready to support NCRPO operations and deploy additional personnel if necessary to help secure activities related to the anniversary.
Peñones added that the PRO3 maintains sufficient reserve forces on standby for immediate deployment to assist authorities in the National Capital Region, ensuring a safe and secure commemoration of the EDSA People Power anniversary.
