A 27-YEAR-OLD woman on Monday died while her live-in partner was injured in a fire that hit a house in Bgy. Arenas, Arayat, Pampanga.
Police identified the fatality as Reanne Cuachon, a call center agent.
The fire broke out around 5:40 a.m. Monday.
Initial investigation disclosed that the blaze started inside the bedroom of Joshua Miranda, 28, a call center agent and a resident of Purok 4, Bgy. Arenas.
Miranda and his partner, Cuachon, were inside the room when the fire began.
According to investigators, the couple shouted for help as flames rapidly spread.
Miranda’s father rushed to the room after hearing his son’s cries but found the door locked.
He forcibly opened the door and managed to pull Joshua out to safety.
However, Cuachon was left inside the burning room.
Miranda sustained injuries and was immediately brought to Greencity Medical Center in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga for medical treatment.
Firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Arayat declared the fire under control at around 7 a.m..
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
