AN estimated 517,650 Catholic faithful joined the Good Friday procession of Jesus Nazareno in Quiapo, Manila.
The procession began at 11:33 p.m. on Holy Thursday, April 2.
Devotees, including members of the Hijos del Nazareno, welcomed the image as it emerged from the church, marking the faithful’s observance of Good Friday—the commemoration of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
The sacred image was carried on the same carriage used during the Feast of the Jesus Nazarene in January.
Devotees lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the revered image while others joined the procession.
Some participants walked barefoot as a sign of penance and devotion.
The andas carrying the Jesus Nazarene returned to Quiapo Church at 12:51 p.m., on Good Friday, April 3, 2026.
The procession lasted for 13 hours, 18 minutes, and 37 seconds.
Around 3,200 members of the Manila Police District (MPD) were deployed to ensure the safety of the participants.
Meanwhile, hundreds of medical cases were also recorded during the event.
