CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested a city-level most wanted man and a suspect involved in illegal firearms trading in this province.
According to CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 (RFU3) chief Col. Grant Gollod, the first operation was conducted in Bgy. Maimpis, City of San Fernando.
Arrested was alias “Tantan,” 41, listed as a most wanted person of the San Fernando City police.
The suspect was apprehended by joint operatives from the CIDG Pampanga Provincial Field Unit (PFU) and the San Fernando CPS at his residence in Miranda Compound.
The arrest was based on a warrant issued by the RTC Branch 47 for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
A separate anti-criminality operation under Oplan Paglalansag Omega led to the arrest of another suspect during a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Masamat, Mexico, Pampanga.
Gollod said CIDG Pampanga PFU operatives, in coordination with the Mexico Municipal police, apprehended alias “Tim,” 43, for selling an unlicensed firearm to an undercover police officer.
Seized from the suspect were a cal. .9mm pistol, a steel magazine assembly, five rounds of live ammunition, marked and boodle money, a mobile phone, and a plateless motorcycle.
Alias “Tim” will be charged with violation of Section 32 of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Gollod said the operations highlight CIDG’s continuing efforts to intensify its campaign against wanted persons and illegal firearms as part of its mandate to maintain peace and order in the region.
