FIFTEEN livestock buyers on Wednesday.died while three others were injured when the truck they were riding fell off a cliff at Sitio Tubod, Bgy. Bulwang in Mabinay, Negros Oriental.
The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) identified the fatalities as Rolando Decipolo Sr., 63; Fe Decipolo; Marlon Solidad, 46; Rene Magos, 46; Allen Pocong, 44; Leo Soreño, 43; Ireneo Magos, 37; Allan Flores, 36; Rex Decipolo, 33; Rolindo Decipolo, 29; Remond Llenes, 29; Roy Magos, 29; Jacob Labrador, 28; Almar Egoogan, 26; and Jemboy Egoogan.
Police said the victims, who were from La Libertad, Negros Oriental, were on their way to Dauis, Bayawan City when the truck they were riding driven by Antonio Boganotan Toreno lost its brakes and overshot the road.
The truck fell off the cliff past 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to NOPPO spokesperson Lt. Stephen Polinar, among the injured was the truck driver.
Toreno is now recuperating at a health center in Mabinay.
Two others who were injured were identified as Almer Gargoles and Jovanni Flores.
Charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide are being readied for filing in court against the truck driver.
