CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. on Friday announced the surrender of eight members of the communist terrorist groups (CTGs) in Central Luzon.
Hidalgo said the surrender occurred amidst ongoing efforts of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC ) to encourage the CTGs to return to the fold of the law.
The Central Luzon top cop identified the surrenderers as “Ka Jomar,” a former Sandatahang Yunit Propaganda (SYP) member under the Josefino Corpuz Command, who turned in a homemade unserviceable cal. .38 revolver with live ammunition; “Ka Ivy,” a former S4 of Iskwad Primera Platoon Sentral of Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB), who surrendered ammunition and explosive materials; “Ka Jayjay,” a former member of the Sandatahang Yunit Propaganda Bataan-Zambales, who handed over firearms and explosives; “Ka Orna,” a former member of Bayan Muna (UGMO) who yielded explosive materials; “Ka Berting,” a former CTG member under KLG TarZam, who relinquished firearms and subversive documents; “Ka Lenlen,” a former member of Pambansang Katipunan ng Magsasaka (PKM); “Ka Gabriela,” a member of Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (RHB) who surrendered an improvised submachine gun; and “Ka Usting,” a member of Aguman Dareng Maglalautang Capampangan (AMC).
He urged the remaining members of the rebel groups to lay down their arms and take advantage of the government’s E-CLIP benefits.
“The Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines continue to encourage all remaining supporters of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army to return to the government fold and unite for a terrorism-free nation,” Hidalgo said.
