A RETIRED judge died while seven others were injured in a road accident in Cagayan de Oro City.
Police identified the fatality as Gael Paderanga, a retired executive judge of the Regional Trial Court in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
The injured were Joshua JR Asuela, 46; his wife Ana Louella, 43; his children Joshua, 16; Eliza, 14; Louise, 12; and Theofore, 7; and sister-in-law Louella, all residents of Sitio Patpat, Bgy. Mambuaya, Cagayan de Oro City.
An investigation showed that a black Kia Sorento sports utility vehicle driven by the judge collided with the blue Toyota Revo driven by Asuela on old airport road in Limbia, Cagayan de Oro on Sunday.
Witnesses rushed Paderanga to a hospital in Carmen but was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician.
The Asuela family were also brought to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
