FOUR robbers on Monday took at least P1.6 million cash from an office vault in Bacolor, Pampanga.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. identified the complainant as Mohamed Manas Illiyas, 39, a Sri Lankan national, of Blk.12, Lot 19, Solana Country Homes, Bgy. San Isidro, Bacolor, Pampanga.
Illiyas, a branch manager, told police when he went to his office at the Asahi Group International Corp. located in Bgy. San Vicente, Bacolor, he found out the place was in disarray and the P1.6 million cash inside the safety vault missing.
Upon review of the CCTV footage, three men entered the office compound by climbing over the fence while another man remained outside as look-out.
Two of the suspects entered the office by destroying the comfort room’s window and once inside, also destroyed the safety vault and fled with the cash.
When the three suspects were about to escape, they hid behind one of the parked vehicles when they saw the security guard on duty busy using his cellphone.
The suspects waited until the security guard passed by before they escaped by climbing up the fence again.
When the security guard seen in the CCTV was about to be interviewed about the robbery, he suddenly fled for unknown reasons and has failed to return.
Police are checking the identity of the suspects and investigating if the security guard was also involved in the burglary.
