OPERATIVES led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 4A on Thursday night arrested two Pakistanis and seized P235-million worth of ketamine in a buy-bust operation in Malate, Manila.
Newly-installed Batangas Police Provincial Director Col. Jacinto Malinao identified the arrested suspects as Zahid Pasha, 50, of Malate, Manila and Akram Muhammad Faheem, 59, of Parañaque City.
Members of the CIDG 4A under the stewardship of regional chief Col. Reynante S. Panay, along with the SOU NCR, PNP DEG; Batangas Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of the PRO 4A, RID of NCRPO; RPDEU 4A; RPDEU, NCRPO; Malate Police Station 5; PDEA SES; and the Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Section conducted the buy-bust at the parking lot of Diamond Hotel in Malate.
Seized from the suspects were 10 white large plastic packs of suspected ketamine weighing about 47 kilos and valued at P235,000,000.
Pasha was arrested at the parking lot of the hotel while follow-up led to the capture of Faheem at the hotel lobby.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence are now in the temporary custody of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group in Camp Crame, Quezon City for documentation and proper disposition.
