THE Department of Budget Management (DBM) announded that th first tranche of salary increase for qualified government workers would likely be released this month.
DBM Secretary Amenah Pangamdaman said the actual schedule for the release would depend on the speed of various government agencies to do the computation.
“Ito na, baka itong month na ito mabigay ang retroactive nila depende sa agency. Kailangan mabilis po mag-compute ang ating mga ahensya,” Pangandaman said.

Pangandaman made the remarks when asked in a media interview about the timeline of the release of the salary increase for government employees, which is retroactive starting January this year.
She added that mid-year bonus is also included in the release.
“Napirmahan na po kaninang umaga (Monday morning) ‘yung National Budget Circular at saka Local Budget Circular. So, we expect that ang publication nito ay by tomorrow,” Pangandaman said.
“But in the meantime, napadala na rin po natin ‘yung guidelines sa ating national government agencies para masimulan na po nila ang computation ng adjustments,” she added.
She said it is now up to the departments, government agencies and other offices to fast track the release of adjustments.
