A “greyhound” operation was launched by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency inside the Manila City Jail Annex at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
The operation, led by members of the PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region K9 Unit and PDEA-RO-NCR Seaport Interdiction Unit, along with the personnel of the BJMP Manila City Jail Annex, resulted in the seizure of 11 grams of shabu and dried marijuana leaves.
Some 49 sachets of shabu, five sachets of marijuana and drug paraphernalias were seized from one inmate.
The raiding team said the drugs were hidden in the slippers of an inmate, a known member of the Commando gang.
The PDEA-NCR said the inmate has been jailed for illegal possession of drugs, robbery, and illegal possession of a firearm.
In the continuation of the search, the raiding team found another eight small sachets of shabu in a trash can.
