In a report to Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., nabbed were Cao Jie, 35, and Jia Zi Cong, 27, both Chinese nationals and stay-in employees at Momarco Vagetable Plantation, Bgy. Caingin, San Rafael town. An investigation showed prior to the arrest, the San Rafael police received an information from a concerned citizen that two Chinese men showed their guns to other customers while eating at a local eatery in Bgy. Caingin. A police team was immediately dispatched to the area. Police spotted two foreigners walking out of the eatery that matched the description of the suspects. The cops noticed that the two men acted suspiciously and tried to walk away hastily upon seeing them approaching. Authorities confronted the suspects who started to speak in Chinese language. Upon inspection, the two men yielded a cal. .45 pistol with magazine loaded with six bullets, and a .9mm with magazine loaded with nine bullets. Officers asked for permits for the guns but the two foreigners could not show any, prompting lawmen to arrest them for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Omnibus Election Code or gun ban.
