QUEZON CITY remains the wealthiest city in the country, according to a Commission on Audit report.
Based on the COA’s 2022 Annual Financial Report on Local Government, Quezon City reported assets worth P443.41 billion as of the end of 2022.
In its annual financial report on local governments, the COA said that even if Quezon City’s assets decreased by P7.6 billion or from P451 billion in 2021 to P443.41 billion in 2022, it is still the richest city for the third consecutive year.
Quezon City is the biggest city in the capital region based on land area and population.
Makati City is the second richest city, with assets of P239.4 billion, while third is Manila, with assets at P77.506 billion.
Meanwhile, Cebu is the richest province in the country based on their assets, the COA report said.
Second to Cebu is Rizal province, with assets of P35.5 billion.
The wealthiest municipality in the country is Carmona in Cavite, with assets totaled P6.52 billion up from P311 million in 2021.
Limay in Bataan is the second richest town with assets of P5.7 billion.
