POLICE on Thursday arrested a Korean national following a rob-extort complaint by his compatriot in Pampanga.
The suspect’s alleged cohort, also a Korean, eluded arrest.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Angeles City police director Col. Amado Mendoza Jr. identified the victim as Korean national Shin Du Ho, 39, of PYJ Building, Clarkhills, Clark Free Port, Pampanga.
The suspects were Kwon Jun Young, 38, of Dona Adela, Sta. Cruz, Porac, Pampanga, and a certain Jogmin Seok, also Korean nationals.
The victim told police that on Wednesday, he lost his cellphone and could not find it. The next day, a male Korean national called Ho using the lost cellphone and demanded P200,000 in exchange for the return of his gadget.
Ho sought police assistance and an entrapment operation was conducted resulting in the arrest of Young.
Police are tracking down the other Korean national who escaped arrest.
