CURFEW AND LIQUOR BAN FOR BSKE
A PROVINCEWIDE curfew hours and liquor ban are being imposed in Cavite from October 19 to 30 in view of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.
.Provincial Ordinance 420-2023 otherwise known as the BSKE 2023 Curfew Ordinance imposes a daily six-hour curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day within the boundaries of the province.
Election officials and personnel performing duties related to the BSK elections, law enforcement officers, individuals traveling to or from or emergency situation, and individuals with parental or guardian permission for essential activities, are exempted from the curfew ordinance.
Provincial Ordinance 421-2023, meanwhile, imposes a liquor ban in Cavite..
Sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic drinks from October 19 to 30 are prohibited.
First time violators will be referred to the nearest barangay hall or police station and will be imposed a fine of P2,000.
For the second offense, a fine of P3,000 will be implemented while for the 3rd offense – a fine of P5,000 or imprisonment of six months.
The provincial ordinances were approved and signed by Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. on October 19 after it was passed by the Provincial Council led by Vice Gov. and Presiding Officer Athena Bryana Tolentino during the 63rd regular session of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan on October 16.
According to Remulla, both ordinances were aimed to promote public order and safety for the BSKE.
