THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Thursday reported that a plastic bag found floating in the shoreline of Narra, Palawan on November 5 turned out to be containing cocaine.
According to PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo, the illegal drugs was found by a local resident while walking on the shoreline in Purok Pagkakaisa, Bgy. Calategas, Narra town.
The man’s curiosity was aroused when he saw the heat-sealed, water-proof bag containing a strange white powdery substance.
He later contacted the PDEA Palawan Provincial Office, which sent officers to retrieve the drugs believed to have been washed ashore.
When subjected to a laboratory test, the substance tested positive for cocaine.
An investigation is ongoing.
