RIZAL Police Provincial Office director Col. Felipe B. Maraggun on Thursday ordered the administrative relief of the chief of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station following the arrest of three of his men for extortion.
Marragun said Lt. Col. Arnulfo Selencio was replaced by Lt. Col. Vic Palma.
According to Marragun, the Rizal police force has no room for erring personnel who will betray public trust and confidence.
The official warned all officers and men of the Rizal police to refrain from committing acts that will compromise the integrity of the Philippine National Police as an organization.
He said the Police Regional Office 4-A headed by Brig. Gen. Kenneth Paul T. Lucas is also deeply committed to implementing the internal disciplinary mechanisms and upholding the integrity of the Calabarzon police force through the strict implementation of the doctrine of command responsibility and police operational procedures.
Last Wednesday, three members of the Rodriguez MPS who were accused of illegally arresting and beating a local resident and threatening to file trumped-up charges against the victim if he won’t heed their P100,000 demand were arrested by agents of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group in an entrapment operation.
Suspects Police Senior Master Sergeant Jose Reyes and Staff Sgts. Ramel Delorino and Glenn Libres will be facing criminal charges for robbery-extortion, illegal detention and trespass to dwelling.
Recovered during the sting at 289 Linco Street in Bgy. Rosario were the P37,000 worth of boodle money topped by two marked P1,000 bills and six mobile phones.
All three policemen were also stripped of their PNP-issued guns.
