POLICE manning a checkpoint in Angeles City, Pampanga on Saturday arrested two men on a plateless motorcycle.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Angeles City Police director Col. Amado Mendoza identified the arrested suspects as Alberto Gran and Arnold Nulud.
Police were conducting checkpoint at the Angeles Dau boundary, MacArthur Highway in Bgy. Balibago, Angeles City when they spotted two men on a plateless motorcycle and not wearing helmets.
Officers tried to stop the suspects when they saw the backrider suddenly throw a brown holster in an abandoned building near the checkpoint.
Upon inspection, the Angeles City police found inside the holster a cal. .38 revolver loaded with five live bullets.
Mendoza said the arrested suspects will be charged with violations of Republic Act 10054 (Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009), RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearm) and of Omnibus Election Code (Gun Ban).
