FOUR people, including three children, early Friday morning were killed in a fire that hit a residential area in Bgy. Talaba II, Bacoor, Cavite.
Police said the fatalities, whose names were being verified, were aged 6, 7, 10, and 20.
Three others were also injured and are being treated at a nearest hospital.
Authorities said at least 86 families were rendered homeless by the blaze.
The affected families are now taking temporary shelter at the Talaba Elementary School.
According to the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the fire started at around 3 a.m. yesterday.
Firefighters had a hard time going inside the area because of narrow pathways and dark streets.
The blaze was put out at 5:21 a.m. of the same day.
An investigation is ongoing on what started the fire.
