A WOMAN trying to save her husband from being shot by a drunk man was killed instead on Thursday in Tarlac.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Tarlac police identified the victim as Susana Remigio, 59, of Purok 6, Bgy. Guevara La Paz, Tarlac.
Suspect Alexander Esteban, 53, of Bgy. Guevara, La Paz, was later arrested by responding personnel of the La Paz police.
Prior to the killing, the suspect, who was armed with a gun and under the influence of liquor, was chasing Ricky Remigio when the victim intervened.
The suspect shot Susana.
Witnesses rushed the woman to the La Paz Medicare Community Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician, Dr. Jose Carlex C. Lazaga.
