CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A man selling illegal firecrackers was arrested in Baliuag City, Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Regional Special Operations Group chief Col. Jay Dimaandal, arrested was alias “Elmer.”
RID-RSOG3 operatives, together with RMFB3 and Baliuag police, conducted an entrapment against the suspect who is engaged in selling prohibited types of firecrackers at Nation Fireworks Store in Bgy. Sto. Niño, Baliuag City, Bulacan.
During the operation, an undercover agent was able to buy packs of pla-pla and kabasi, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
Dimaandal said seized from the suspect were the 300 packs of pla-pla, 200 packs of kabasi, and the marked and boodle money,
The suspect will be charged with be charged violation of Republic Act 7183.
“We continue to conduct a series of inspections of different firecrackers and fireworks establishments regionwide as we intensify the crackdown against illegal manufacturers of firecrackers,” Hidalgo said.
The Central Luzon police chief reiterated that those who will be caught manufacturing, selling, distributing, or using illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices will face a fine of P20,000 to P30,000, imprisonment of six months to one year, cancellation of license and business permit and confiscation of inventory stocks.
