A TOP female drug suspect in Central Visayas on Saturday was arrested by the police after she sold more than P20 million worth of shabu to an undercover officer in Mandaue City.
Nabbed was Marichu Añora alias “Chu,” a 41-year-old resident of Sitio Bangan in Bgy. Cabancalan, Mandaue City.
Police Regional Office 7 director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said Añora is a “high-value target.”
Aberin said that at around 1 a.m. Saturday, undercover officers from the Mandaue City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the suspect in a buy-bust operation on Manuel L. Quezon Street in Bgy. Casuntingan.
Seized from Añora were 27 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 3,059 grams of the “poor man’s cocaine” worth P20,740,000, a mobile phone she used in exchanging messages with the poseur, and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.
Aberin said that the suspect, who is now being held in a Mandaue City police jail, will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
