AGENTS of the Women and Children Protection Center of the Philippine National Police on Tuesday rescued five minors reported performing lewd acts online inside a small house in Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental.
A 24-year old woman accused of exploiting the children to get money from foreign perverts was arrested during the operation in Purok 4, Bgy. Lingonan, Bonifacio town.
PNP-WCPC head Brig. Gen. Portia B. Manalad said members of the WCPC Mindanao Field Unit made the rescue operation 4:40 p.m. Tuesday on the strength of a Warrant to Search, Seize and Examine Computer Data against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children.
Arrested during the operation was Honey Bie Tahoy, who was reported to be offering the victims online to sex fiends abroad.
The accused is facing criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 1930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials Act and RA 11930 or possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials.
The suspect was locked-up at the Bonifacio Municipal Police Station jail while the rescued minors were turned over to the Bonifacio Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
