A CHINESE businessman on Friday was injured after he was shot by a group of compatriots trying to abduct him in Olongapo City.
The Olongapo City police reported to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. that the victim was Chen Guisheng, owner of Hongyung Restaurant at Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Olongapo City.
Witnesses security guard Michael Melancolico and the victim’s brother-in-law Wangping Zhou told police that before closing the restaurant located on Sta. Rita Road, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, the victim went outside together with his dog after hearing a group of men quarrelling.
Guisheng was approaching the group of men when they suddenly grabbed and dragged him towards a car.
The victim resisted, prompting one of the men to punch and shoot him.
Sensing that the incident has caught the attention of the people in the area, the suspects fled in a car.
Guisheng was rushed to the Bay Point Hospital for treatment.
Police are checking the CCTV footages in the area to identify and arrest the suspects.
