AN Australian national who fired shots at three men, including a minor, on Thursday was shot in the chest at Sitio Balubad, Purok 1, Bgy. Anunas, Angeles City.
Angeles City police director Col. Amado Mendoza, in his report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., identified the foreigner as Douglas Dubois, 74, an Australian national residing in Balubad, Bgy. Anunas, Angeles City.
Victims Eugene Arayin, 24; Muin Abdurahim; and a 16-year-old boy, all residents of Bgy. Hirawan, Antipolo City, were roaming in the area when the Australian national went outside his house holding a gun and fired shots at the trio.
The teenager and Arayin sustained gunshot wounds in the body while Abdurahim was hurt from a pointed hard object he stumbled upon while escaping from being shot.
Allegedly, a group of persons retaliated by shooting at the Australian, who was hit in the chest.
Responding members of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 led by Capt. Neville Garcia and the SWAT team rushed all the injured persons to Rafael Lazatin Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities found 18 empty cartridges of cal. .9mm and cal. .45 pistols at the crime scene.
No firearms were recovered.
The Australian national is still recuperating at the hospital while being tightly guarded by the police.
