CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- As part of the Central Luzon police force’s observance of the Holy Week, Police Regional Office 3 held its Way of the Cross during the traditional “Stations of the Cross” at Camp Captain Julian Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga on Good Friday, March 29.
The “Stations of the Cross” is a re-enactment of the final hours of Jesus before the Crucifixion and one of the most popular devotions for the Catholics.
From the 1st Station to the 14th Station, officers and personnel of the Regional Headquarters meditatively read and reflected the events from one station to another before the crucifixion of Jesus.
Meanwhile, Rev Fr. Lt. Col. Jonathan Chy, Regional pastoral officer, said that this year’s prayer intentions and reflections are for the upkeep of peace and order in the region and the health and safety of the PRO3 personnel and their families.
Also, on Maundy Thursday, a Lenten vigil was conducted by the different police units from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight at the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel in Camp Olivas while on Holy Monday, a Lenten recollection was participated by Catholic members of the PRO3.
Although the PRO3 is one with the public in observance of the Lenten Season, “LIGTAS SUMVAC 2024” is strictly implemented until May 31.
